About Me

I started this blog today, the day I have been seizure-free for 2 years. Epilepsy, a seizure disorder which is minimally understood, has impacted my life for over 14 years. I am grateful that I am where I am today despite my condition. My goal for this blog is somewhat cathartic. But I also hope it brings more attention to this condition and provides insight into what it is like to live with this condition. Most of all, I hope this blog is not a downer. It is simply a chronicle of my somewhat uneventful, sometimes embarrassing, occasionally exciting life. To me, each episode I've had represents a time and place in my life that is worth remembering.

A disclaimer: this is my experience with epilepsy. It is not, by any means, everyone's. For a condition that, to me, is so stigmatized, I would hate to stereotype it any more. People deal with it in different ways. This is how I do it.

Another disclaimer: I'm not a medical doctor.

Most disclaimers to come.
